Welcome to Carson City ~~ Nevada's Capital City

Today's DAR has 177,000 members in 3,000 chapters worldwide, including units overseas in numerous foreign countries. Since its founding in 1890, DAR has admitted more than 930,000 members.

The official DAR motto is
God, Home and Country.

Wherever your interest lies, the DAR has a program area where you can enjoy working with other women to support God, Home, and Country.

Explore our web site for more information about how Battle Born Chapter works to improve the Carson City community.

The DAR is a volunteer women's service organization that honors and preserves the legacy of our Patriot ancestors. More than 200 years ago, American Patriots fought and sacrified for the freedoms we enjoy today. As members of the DAR, we continue this legacy by actively promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children.

Organized on July 5, 2004, the Battle Born Chapter was proud to be Nevada's first working women's chapter, a format which implements the one-hour meeting adopted by the National Society.

The chapter meets for lunch once each month, September through May, on the third Wednesday of each month at noon in Carson City.  Meetings include both chapter business and an educational program. We continue to meet for lunch only during the summer months.

The majority of our chapter members are working women - and enjoy the flexibility that the one-hour weekday meeting provides for them to join and remain involved in DAR activities while still leaving time to spend with their families participating in active lifestyles on the weekends.

We support the children of our community and we proudly sponsor the Fort Churchill Society, Children of the American Revolution. Join your children and grandchildren today!
